Cinematique Presents: “Dark Waters” W/ Special Event

February 15 @ 7:00 pm EST

Dark Waters runs from Monday, January 13 thru Wednesday, January 15. It screens Monday thru Wednesday at 7pm with an additional screening on Wednesday at 4pm in Thalian Hall’s Main Theatre. Runtime: 2h6m. PG-13.

Join us for a special event following Wednesday’s 7pm screening. WHQR Reporter Vince Winkel moderates a Q&A with Emily Donavan, co-founder of Clean Cape Fear, an alliance formed to protect water quality in the region. Donavan has testified before Congress twice regarding DuPont/Chemours poisoning the drinking water supply for those downstream of the Fayetteville, NC Chemours facility. She recently participated in a Washington Post Live panel discussion with actor Mark Ruffalo and lawyer Rob Bilott. Please join us after the screening. No additional ticket/fee required.

Inspired by a shocking true story, a tenacious attorney (Mark Ruffalo) struggles to punish the DuPont chemical corporation for dumping toxic waste in West Virginia water where a dark secret connects a growing number of unexplained deaths. In the process, he risks everything – his future, his wife (Anne Hathaway), and his own life – to expose the truth.
